I am Shanon Leigh of Say Something Photography, a portrait photographic artist with over 20 years of training and experience. I understand that part of running any business in this cyber-focused age is creating and sharing a blog.  I'm a bit of a novice at this and a bit shy, however, so I have invented a character to do it for me. Allow me to introduce you to my brainchild, "Red." She is plucky, funny, clumsy, smart, English-born and American-raised. She gives me a way to share my foibles without actually having to talk about myself directly.  
As good fortune would have it, I am dating the very talented caricature artist/cartoonist, Tim Wells, aka "Welly", who has somehow managed to peer inside my imagination long enough to figure out exactly how I pictured my cartooned persona. Okay, I want her to look like me and he accomplished this oh, so well, right down to my Dumbo-sized ears! Now it is up to me to write her story and personality.
Red, like me, loves the area along the Fylde Coast of Lancashire. I spent many happy holidays in Lytham St Annes, from young childhood up until my teens. It was then that I moved to the states with my parents, but I never forgot the connection I felt here. I moved back to the North West a couple of years ago, eager to make new friends and memories, and I haven't been disappointed. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. Red has a little bit more of a challenge, however. Everything is new to her, and she is also trying to build a portrait photography business as she gets acquainted with this beautiful seaside town.   
 

I invite you to join me each week to see what new thing Say Something Photography is doing. Red will be here to tell it all. It might be business, it might not, but I promise to try to keep it inviting, interesting, short on rambling, and fun!
